Design & Implementation of Network Infrastructure

The Client

The Texel Group is a specialist credit and political risk insurance broker, with access to Lloyd’s of London and public and private insurers around the world.

Since starting their business in 1997, they’ve developed a strong reputation throughout the insurance market. They are well known for their skill at identifying the right insurers for any transaction – and helping their clients make transactions happen in good time.

 

The Challenge

The Texel Group are an award winning global insurance broker which has grown in scale and reputation during our time working alongside each other. This growth has lead to projects which have demanded scaling with autonomy in consideration. With global offices, located in London, New York, Singapore and Belgium the Texel group, like many businesses, have moved from local hosted solutions to cloud based solutions during the course of its operation.

Since 2007 and as part of Texel Group’s growth, help4IT have been integral to maintaining and supporting the IT infrastructure of the business since 2007 by providing helpdesk and technical services which are subject to ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 27001 (Security) standards, dealing with support incidents as well as out of hours support.

 

The Solution

A major role help4IT have played working alongside our client has been the relocation of the Texel London offices back in 2017. This required a complete design of the network infrastructure at the new office location from our technical operations team. This included all aspects of the network such as installing the leased line from the internet service provider, configuring network firewall and switches, configuring hosted servers, wireless network access and network failover redundancy.

During this project we developed the network to ensure that the network would meet the demand of the number of users and would be robust at any point of failure.

As part of the office relocation our technicians also deployed all new workstations and configured desktops for users.

Since then, help4IT have gone on to roll out solutions to meet the business’ needs ranging from file services and email services to VoIP solutions and video conferencing. help4IT have also migrated much of the infrastructure to Microsoft 365 from local servers and consolidate systems from various locations in to one centrally managed system.

As part of our ongoing support, we have also helped to develop systems and worked alongside our partners to deliver additional tools for the business such as successfully configuring an archiving solution enabling users to move email directly into SharePoint. A large part of this process has involved our technical team working with the Texel Group team and staff to develop their knowledge and ability to use the solutions.

Mimecast’s advanced email filtering forms the first line of defence, shielding Texel Group from phishing and malware attacks. Intune’s comprehensive device management, spanning computers and mobiles, ensures secure endpoint access. SentinelOne’s vigilant threat protection, backed by a 24/7 SOC, acts as a robust shield against evolving threats. This layered approach, complemented by email filtering services, web content filtering, enterprise antivirus, multi-factor authentication, and GDPR-compliant security policies, solidifies Texel Group’s security posture.
